There\u2019s color for every thing: Red, Green, Blue and etc. So it is the same for our metal dome array<\/a>. Currently there\u2019re two basic colors:<\/p>\n

1) White<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0 Transparent (Clear)<\/p>\n

Of course, there\u2019re other colors, if you print the silver ink (EMI)<\/a>, or choose rubber dome array<\/a>, Light Guide Film (LGF)<\/a>, etc. But in this article, we only discuss above two basic colors. Others we will discuss in future.<\/p>\n

Maybe you have following questions. In fact, they\u2019re the most common question customer asked us:<\/p>\n

A)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Why color different<\/p>\n

B)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 How to choose the suitable color of metal dome array<\/p>\n

In order to answer this question, let me look back the structure of our metal dome array<\/a>. You can see this blog \u201cThe whole thickness of our metal dome arrays<\/a>\u201d for more details.<\/p>\n

As you can see, there\u2019re two basic structures: Single layer<\/a> and double layer<\/a>, but both of them has the same Mylar layer. And the color of this Mylar is the same as Transparent (Clear), so to color of whole dome array is depending upon the color of Spacer.<\/p>\n

For Single layer dome array<\/a>, because there\u2019s no Space layer, so color is upon on Mylar;<\/p>\n

For double layer dome array<\/a>, if Spacer is white, then whole product looks white; and if it\u2019s transparent, then whole dome array<\/a> like clear.<\/p>\n

I think this is easily to understand. Isn\u2019t it? So let\u2019s go ahead with question #B \u201cHow to choose the suitable color of metal dome array?<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Here\u2019re some basic principles:<\/p>\n

—To choose White dome array, after assemble on PCB, you can not see anything from the PCB except where cutout on dome array, like below picture:<\/p>\n

So if you<\/p>\n

a) Need to cover PCB and components on it; or<\/p>\n

b) Need light cover or light reflect; or<\/p>\n

c) Cosmetic requirements such as the keep environment harmonically; or<\/p>\n

d) Other special requirements<\/p>\n

—To choose Transparent (Clear) dome array, even assemble on PCB, you can still see the PCB, so if you<\/p>\n

a) Want a see PCB in assembly process to adjust dome array location, for a easily consignment; or<\/p>\n

b) No requirements to cover PCB and components on it; or<\/p>\n

c) No light cover request<\/p>\n

d) Other special requirements<\/p>\n
